Descendants of the Eighty-Eighth

Our descendants group began somewhat informally beginning in 2011 from our love of history and a search for information on our ancestors who fought in the 88th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry Regiment. It is fortunate that much of the history of the 88th PVI was documented by John D. Vautier a Private in Co. I who provided a great diary and book; the History of the 88th Pennsylvania Volunteers, two of John Vautier's descendants are members of our group.

The Campfire Chronicles, The Words and Deeds of the 88th Pennsylvania Volunteers provides additional first hand accounts of service with the 88th Pennsylvania and was written by a descendant of Charlie McKnight, a Captain in Co. K.
